Woodwardia fimbriata

Giant Chain Fern: Evergreen CA Native fern that is the largest of the North American ferns. Fronds grow 3-5' tall or more. Prefers part shade but will accept full shade. Grows best within the moist, coastal fog belt. Cut back in late winter just before the new fiddleheads begin to emerge. Medium to high water. Great in containers. Seacoast, heat, sand, clay and drought tolerant, but looks best with regular water. Deer, rabbit and fire  resistant.
