Japanese Wisteria: A large, vigorous, deciduous twining vine to 30'. Exceptionally long, drooping racemes to 3' or more in length. Fragrant, pea-like, lilac-tinged blue-purple flowers in late spring, often followed by bean-like velvety, blue-grey seed pods. Full sun to part sun. Medium water. Leaves turn yellow in autumn. Clay, sand, heat and drought tolerant once established. Good for containers. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
