Verbena lasiostachys

Western Vervain: CA native perennial. Good for erosion control. Attracts butterflies and pollinators. 2-3' tall x 4-5' wide. This plant has a long bloom period beginning in April and lasting until September. Purple-blue flowers are densely clustered on tall green stalks. Low to medium water. Full sun to part sun. Deer resistant, attracts birds and pollinators.  Seacoast, wind, clay, sand, heat and drought tolerant once established.
