Solidago velutina ssp. californica

California Goldenrod: Easy to grow, late blooming CA native perennial. Spreads by creeping rootstocks where it can form a good-sized colony. Tiny golden yellow daisies on top of slender wand-like flower stalks 2-3' tall. Blooms late summer through fall. Attracts hummingbirds, birds and pollinators. Good in containers and for long-lasting cut flowers. Full sun to part shade. Low to high water.  Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, clay, bog, and drought tolerant once establishes. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
