Sidalcea hendersonii

Checkerbloom: Tough & reliable, long-blooming perennial with non-stop, showy, pink, hollyhock-like 1” flowers on upright branching stems to 3’. Low growing, compact mound to 30” across. Attracts butterflies & hummingbirds. Endangered native to coastal meadows and marshes of British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. Easily grown in a container. Good for cut flowers. Full sun. Medium to high water. Seacoast, wind, bog, clay, sand, heat and drought tolerant once established, but prefers regular water.  Deer, gopher and fire resistant.
