Western Sea-Purslane: Low growing, mat-forming, SF local and CA native evergreen, fleshy, succulent, perennial herb with many branching prostrate stems 5" tall x 6' wide and prolific, small magenta flowers from April through November. Adaptable to harsh, alkaline conditions. Attracts birds and wildlife. Good for containers. A great native substiture for iceplant. Full sun to part shade. Low to high water. Seacoast, wind, sand, clay, heat, bog and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher, and fire resistant.
