Butcher's Broom: Compact evergreen shrub. Creeping rootstock to 2' tall x 3-4' wide. In spring, small, extremely odd white flowers grow on the center of the "leaf" (which is actually a modified stem) and are followed by red berries. Easy to grow. Part shade to shade, low water. Excellent for dry shade areas. Deer resistant.
