Romneya coulteri

Matilija Poppy: CA native shrub-like perennial 4-6' tall x 8' wide with silvery-grey foliage. Produces large, 5-7" diameter, fragrant white flowers with crepe paper-like crinkled petals and yellow centers. Spreads from underground runners. Be careful not to disturb roots when planting. Attracts hummingbirds, birds and pollinators. Great in containers and for cut flowers. Full to part sun. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
