Frangula (Rhamnus) californica 'Leatherleaf'

Leatherleaf Coffeeberry: Evergreen CA native that is more compact than the species form but can still grow to a large mound over 5' tall. Clusters of very small yellow flowers.Leaves borne along reddish stems are a darker green than other cultivars and have margins rolled under, with dark red to brown berries. Low water needs. Larval food source for pale swallowtail butterfly. Great for pollinators and wildlife.
