Rhamnus crocea

Spiny Redberry: Evergreen CA native shrub to 4' tall x 6' wide or more, with small, leathery, dark-green leaves. Small yellow flower clusters in late winter into early spring, followed by small red berries that are only produced on female plants. Low water needs. Full sun to part shade. Heat, wind, seacoast and drought-tolerant once established. Deer resistant. Pollinator, bee and bird favorite.
