Rhamnus crocea

Spiny Redberry: Evergreen CA native shrub 4' tall x 6' wide or more, with small, leathery, dark-green leaves. Small yellow flower clusters in late winter into early spring, followed by small red berries that are only produced on female plants. Attracts pollinators, bee and birds. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Heat, wind, seacoast and drought-tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and fire resistant.
