Restio similis

A dwarf restio that grows in tufts of grass-like culms. South African native. Perennial or rhizomatous dioecious geophyte that can grow up to 12-18" tall x 2-3' wide. It has dark green culms with tiny yellow flowers in spring and dark brown seedheads in summer. Prefers well-drained soil in a sheltered spot in full sun. Medium water. Great in mass plantings. Cut back in spring.
