Island Live Oak, Channel Islands Oak: Rare CA native evergreen tree from the Channel Islands, 25-40' tall (or taller if grown in rich soil with wind protection). Grey bark that becomes furrowed with age. Attractive, large, wooly-capped acorns take 2 years to mature. Attracts birds and pollinators. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and fire resistant.
