Quercus kelloggii

Kellogg Oak, California Black Oak: Deciduous tree to 40-80' tall. Native from Oregon to southern California. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Gold-green catkins dangle from the branch tips in the spring, followed by plump acorns. Great fall color. Heat, wind, sand and drought tolerant once established. Fire resistant.
