Puya alpestris

Sapphire Tower: 2-3' tall, clumping, spiny and grass-like plant is a member of the Pineapple family. It has light green leaves that are silver-gray beneath. Fantastic metallic blue-green and turquoise flower spikes rise above the foliage. Attractive to bees and hummingbirds as the nectar is sweet. Full sun. Low to medium water. Deer and fire resistant. Wind and drought tolerant once established.
