Self Heal: Easy to grow semi-evergreen CA native wildflower in the mint family. It spreads by roots along its stems to form a dense, weed-suppressing mat. Can be used as a walkable lawn alternative. Up to 1’ high. In Summer, clusters of purple, tubular flowers appear. Edible leaves can be eaten like spinach and flowers can be used in herbal teas. Full sun to part shade. Medium to high water. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbit resistant.
