Tufted Evening Primrose, Fragrant Evening Primrose: CA and US western states native short lived perennial. It grows as a compact, stemless basal rosette, reaching 6-12" tall and spreading 1-2' wide. The deep-green to gray-green leaves form a dense, low clump from a thick woody taproot. The disproportionately large, fragrant white flowers rise above this clump, reaching 8-12" off the ground. Long bloom season. Attracts hummingbirds, birds and pollinators. Full sun to part sun. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and fire resistant.
