Nephrolepis cordifolia

Sword Fern: Easy to grow, evergreen spreading fern with finely-toothed sword-shaped upright leaves and hairy stems to 2-3' tall. Part sun to shade. Low to medium water. Spreads by runners but is easily controlled by digging. Sand, clay, seacoast wind and drought tolerant but appreciates occasional irrigation. Good for containers. Cut back the older fronds in late summer to keep the plant looking fresh. Deer and rabbit resistant.
