Muhlenbergia asperifolia

Alkali Muhly, Scratch Grass: A long and slender CA native evergreen rhizomatous perennial grass that grows in thick clumps up to 2' tall. Open and wispy 6" long open panicles of tan flowers from spring to fall that catch light in a very attractive manner. Full sun to part shade. Low to high water. Great for erosion control.  Wind, heat, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer resistant. Great in containers.
