Chilean Myrtle, Chilean Guava, Arrayán: Bushy evergreen shrub or small tree to 10' tall or more. Dark green shiny leaves with fragrant small white flowers. Smooth, cinnamon colored bark. Edible blue berries. Attractive reddish bark. Full sun. Medium water. Seacoast, wind, clay, sand, heat and drought tolerant once established, but appreciates occasional irrigation. Deer resistant. Attracts birds. Great in containers.
