Limnanthes douglasii

Meadow Foam, Poached Egg Plant: Ornamental, low-growing, mat-forming CA native annual 8-16" tall x 10-30" wide, commonly found in seasonally wet meadows and seeps from spring to summer. Pleasantly fragrant, prolific 1" wide flowers on stalks that rise above the foliage are generally creamy-white with bright yellow centers but may be quite variable in color, size, and distribution. Easy to grow in containers or anywhere in the garden that receives regular water will reliably reseed as long as moisture is present. Good for cut flowers. Attracts pollinators. Full sun to part sun. Medium to high water. Seacoast, clay, sand, and bog tolerant. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
