Leucadendron linifolium

Line-leaf conebush: Neat, evergreen shrub, to 6-8' tall with 3/4" inch wide yellow flowers with a faint yeasty fragrance, dotted on a silver-green cone-like flowerhead. It has small, tight, and narrow leaves that are heathery and interesting and unusual for the Genus. As the flowers mature, they become tinged with red. Seacoast, wind and drought tolerant. Deer resistant. Good for cut flowers. The fruit is a single-seeded, small mottled nutlet about 1/4" wide.
