Leptosyne (Coreopsis) gigantea

Giant Coreopsis: A succulent and woody trunked CA native summer-deciduous shrub that grows to 3-6' tall on a 2-4" diam. stout thick bare light gray-brown stems. Foliage is bright green pinnatifid leaves that emerge in winter and are followed by showy 3" wide yellow daisies in late winter to late spring. Foliage dries up in summer leaving just the odd, sculptural looking stems. Full sun. Low water, and no summer water. Seacoast, sand, wind and drought tolerant once established.
