Climbing Hydrangea: Deciduous woody vine with reddish stems and fragrant white flowers spring to summer. Climbs by aerial rootlets similar to tendrils, 30-40' tall x 5-6' wide. Without support, it can form a 3-5' tall sprawling shrub. Good for cut flowers. Part sun to part shade. Medium water. Attracts hummingbirds and pollinators. Seacoast, wind, sand, clay and drought tolerant once established. Gopher, rabbit, and somewhat deer resistant. Leaves turn yellow in fall.
