Himalayacalamus hookerianus (Drepanostachyum falcatum) 'Teague's Blue'

Blue Bamboo: Robust, clumping bamboo with upright 1" wide culms. The newly emerging culms are a glaucous blue and this color is retained at the base as the culms age to an olive green, sometimes with a reddish color in sunny exposures. 15-20' tall or more. Great for hedge planting or for large containers. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Drought tolerant but appreciates occasional or regular irrigation. Deer and fire resistant. Use wire paskets to protect roots from gophers.
