Heteromeles arbutifolia

Toyon: CA native evergreen shrub or small tree that grows to 10' tall and wide. Full sun to part shade. Seacoast, wind, heat and drought tolerant, but appreciates occasional water. White blooms in the summer attract butterflies and pollinators with red berries that follow in winter. Can be used as a hedge plant and can also be kept as a container plant.
