Hechtia tillandsioides

Grassy Hechtia: An attractive and interesting grass-like terrestrial bromeliad with clusters of 2' wide x 1' tall rosettes of many 10-14" long narrow light olive green-grey semi-succulent leaves that recurve downward. Older plants throw off 2-3' long inflorescences in early spring with profuse blooms of small violet-pink to purple flowers. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Tough and attractive grassy looking landscape plant. Good for containers and hanging baskets.
