A low growing densely spreading evergreen groundcover to under 1' tall by up to 15 feet wide. It has 7inch-long leaves, that are coarsely cut in a saw tooth pattern and bear brush-like dark red flower clusters from late winter through late fall. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and gopher reststant. Attracts hummingbirds, pollinators and beneficial insects. Flowers and foliage are useful in flower arrangements.
