Salal: Evergreen CA Native spreading groundcover. Happiest in fog shrouded coastal zones. Large, leathery, dark green leaves with white to pinkish urn-shaped flowers and blue-black edible berries. Attracts hummingbirds, pollinators, birds and wildlife. and eaten by people too. 2'-4' tall. Part sun to part shade, good for cut flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant, heat and drought tolerant once established.
