Frangula (Rhamnus) californica 'Mound San Bruno'

San Bruno Coffeeberry: Compact CA native evergreen shrub is more compact than the species. Grows 4-6' tall x 8-12' wide with leaves that about half the size typical of the species. Clusters of small, fragrant, greenish-yellow flowers in late winter to spring followed by dark red, almost black, berries. Attracts birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, pollinators, and wildlife. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, clay, sand, heat, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, gopher, rabbit, and fire resistant.
