Leymus (Elymus) moliis

American Dunegrass, American Dune Wild Rye, Sea Lyme Grass, Strand Wheat, Strand Grass: Fast-growing rhizomatic CA native coastal dune grass with wide and attractive grey-bluish colored blades to 4' tall x 1.5-3' wide. Seed grown and sourced from the SF Bay Area coastline. Used extensively for dune restoration, tolerates harsh and low nutrient conditions. Full sun. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant. Fire resistant when irrigated.
