Echium wildpretii

Tower of Jewels: Biennial from the Canary Islands with narrow silver-gray leaves that spread to about 2' wide. Upon maturity in the second year, it sends up a single 7-9' tall spike topped by hundreds of dark pink to almost red flowers. Full sun. Attracts hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Can reseed. Seacoast, sand and wind and drought tolerant once established. Low water. Deer resistant.
