Harebell, Flax lily: Evergreen, fast growing, upright, rhizomatic bamboo-like perennial with canes 4-6' tall x 2-4' wide. Small, insignificant flowers with attractive panicles of glossy looking deep purple berries. Part sun to part shade. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, clay, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
