Datura wrightii (meteloides)

Sacred Datura, Sacred Thorn Apple: Evergreen shrub 2-5' tall x 3-6' wide, with large, sweetly fragrant, trumpet-shaped white flowers to 6-8" long x 3" wide from June to October, followed by small round melon-like fruit covered with spikes. Grey-green leaves emit have a foul odor when crushed. Pollinated by moths. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Can be grown in large containers. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
