Solanum betaceum (Cyphomandra betacea)

Tree Tomato, Tamarillo: Semi-evergreen, woody, shallow-rooted, sub-tropical evergreen shrub with a treelike form that typically grows rapidly to 15’ tall or more. Fragrant pinkish white flowers and bold looking fragrant foliage.Full sun to part shade. Does not tolerate frost. or strong winds. Does well in San Francisco.  Showy, edible, tomato-like fruit.  Fruits may be consumed in salads, sauces, jams, compotes or chutneys.
