Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'

Purple Smoke Tree: Deciduous shrub with maroon red foliage that darkens to purple red in late summer. 7-8' tall x 6' wide or more with time. Airy puffs of purplish hairs surround the flowers which begin appearing in late spring and early summer. The 'smoke puffs' are created by large, loose clusters of fading flowers. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established.
