Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'

Purple Smoke Tree: Deciduous shrub with maroon red foliage that darkens to purple red in late summer. 7-8' tall x 6' wide or more with time. Airy 'smoke puffs' of purplish hairs surround the flowers in late spring and early summer. Good in containers and for cut foliage and flowers. Attracts hummingbirds and pollinators. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and fire resistant.
