Claytonia sibirica

Peppermint Candy Flower, Candy Stripe, Indian Lettuce: CA native evergreen perennial with white to pink candy-striped flowers likes shady, moist conditions. Related to miners lettuce, candy stripe produces dark green, succulent, edible leaves in low rosettes. Long period from spring to summer and will frequently reseed. Not invasive because seedlings are easily removed from unwatered areas. Easy to grow, spreading, low ground cover for a shady area with regular moisture.
