Wild Oats, Northern Sea Oats: A warm-season CA and North American native deciduous clumping grass that spreads slowly with wide flat blue-green bamboo-like foliage 2 to 3 feet tall. Graceful, arching, fluttering flowering stems 3-4' tall  in mid-spring with nodding panicles of flattened silver green spikelets that resemble clusters of oats. Seedheads mature to a rich pale bronze color during the winter. Full sun to part shade. Low water. Stays greener longer with less exposure. Great in containers or for dried flower arrangements. Heat, wind, seacoast, clay, sand and drought tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts birds.
