Hearst's ceanothus: Rare, dense, low-growing CA native evergreen coastal groundcover from San Luis Obispo County, to 6" tall x 4' wide, forming dense mats, with small glossy green leaves and blue flowers. Prefers well-drained soils. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Birds, bees and pollinator favorite. Good for cut flowers. Seacoast, wind, sand, heat, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, gopher, rabbit and fire resistant.
