Carex praegracilis 'Chisai'

Fine California Field Sedge: Short, CA native green clumping sedge that can spread by rhizomes. Good lawn substitute that tolerates moderate foot traffic. Finer textured than Carex praegracilis. Brown blooms in spring. Grows 6-8" x 12-24". Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant, but stays greener longer with irrigation. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
