Carex tumulicola

Foothill Sedge: CA native sedge that grows in tufts and spreads slowly by underground rootstocks. Useful for groundcover, meadows, and soil stabilization. Often confused with non-native Carex divulsa, which looks very similar but is faster growing and more invasive than the CA native Carex tumulicola. Deer resistant. Seacoast, wind, heat and drought tolerant once established.
