Carex praegracilis

Clustered Field Sedge: CA native green running sedge that spreads by rhizomes. Good lawn substitute that tolerates moderate foot traffic. Brown blooms in spring. Grows 8-10" x 12-24". Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, clay, sand and drought tolerant, but stays greener longer with irrigation. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
