Canna 'Australia Compact'

Canna 'Australia': Robust perennial, make broad thickets of branched tubers. Heavy stems rise 4-8' and are lined by broad, shiny leaves up to 3' long. Irregular flowers clustered on stalks above folliage in Summer and Fall. Season for this plant is extended around the coast. Distinguished through bold red purple leaves and vivid orange-red flowers.  Full sun or light shade. High to medium water. Evergreen until frozen.
