Alcantarea imperialis

Bromeliad: Once classified as 'Vriesea Imperialis'. 15' tall flower spike grows after 8-20 years lasting up to 12 months, starts to form new pups to produce more plants after flowering as mother dies back. Prefers well drained loamy soil. Very little maintenance. Wind, salt, drought, and deer tolerant. Sun to shade. Nearly indestructible.
