Bouteloua gracilis 'Blonde Ambition'

Blonde Ambition Blue Grama: A cultivated ornamental form of blue grama grass, which is native to prairies and plains in CA and across North America. Fine-textured, clumping gray-green leaves 12-18" tall with dainty flower stalks in summer, on stiff stems held like small horizontal flags 30-36" tall. These flowers are chartreuse color that age to blond instead of the typical dark purplish flowers of the species. Full sun. Low water but appreciates some irrigation. Good for cut flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant. Heat, wind and drought tolerant once established. Attracts birds.
