Bouteloua gracilis 'Blonde Ambition'

Blonde Ambition Blue Grama: Deciduous clumping ornamental form of the blue grama grass, which is native to prairies and plains in CA and across North America. Fine-textured, clumping blue-green leaves 12-18" tall with dainty flower stalks in summer, on stiff stems held like small horizontal flags 30-36" tall. These flowers are chartreuse color that age to blond instead of the typical dark purplish flowers of the species. Good for cut flowers. Attracts birds and pollinators. Full sun. Low water but appreciates some irrigation. Heat, wind and drought tolerant once established. Deer and rabbit resistant.
