Easy to grow, adaptable, deciduous Northern type 4–6' tall and wide. Great taste, heavy bearing, and mostly self-pollinating. Big berries hold well to the bush when ripe, and skins don't split. It needs more chill than Southern types, perhaps 400 hours but does fine in the cooler-summer coastal and Bay Area climates. Fruit ripens as soon as early February with repeat crops in cool areas. White flowers. Excellent fall color of hot pinks, reds, oranges and gold. Attracts birds, bees, and pollinators. Good for containers. Full sun to part sun. Medium to high water. Wind, sand, and heat tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant.
