Deer Fern: There are two frond types on this clumping CA Native fern; tall, ladder like fronds that grow upright from the center of the plant are fertile and deciduous. The other fronds are low-lying and evergreen. 12-20” tall (depending on the season) x 3’ wide. Good for cut foliage in flower arrangements. Part shade to shade. Seacoast, wind, sand, clay and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant.
