Banksia ericifolia 'Compact Form'

Heath Leaved Banksia: Rare, compact proteaceous shrub to 5-6' tall, to 6-8' wide with needle-like leaves and cone-like flower buds that open to stunning, bottlebrush-like, 10" long orange-red flower clusters in spring to summer. The dried flower heads remain on the plant and are attractive for about a season after bloom. Several flowers will usually be pollinated in each spike, resulting in interesting swollen seeds which are retained for years. Good in containers, indoors and out, and great for cut flowers. Attracts hummingbirds, birds and bees. Full sun. Low water. Seacoast, wind, heat, sand, clay and drought tolerant once established. Deer resistant.
