Athyrium (Anisocampium) niponicum 'Red Beauty'

Japanese Painted Fern, Japanese Painted Lady Fern.: Clumping fern with triangular, arching fronds 12-18" tall and wide. In the spring, the mounding fronds start as a green color, then age to silvery-gray with a contrasting burgundy red flush to the stems and midribs. Part shade to full shade. Moist, well-drained soil. Deer and rabbit resistant. Great in containers. Good for cut foliage.
