Astragalus nuttalii

Nuttall’s Milkvetch: CA Native evergreen biennial that forms thick, tangled clumps of stems to 3′ tall on coastal bluffs. Seacoast, sand, clay and drought tolerant once established. Stems can become quite hairy in harsh and windy spots, and soft and hairless in easier growing conditions. The flowers are cream-colored to green, occasionally with a purple tint. Full sun to part sun.
