Astelia 'Silver Shadow'

Silver Astelia: Evergreen clumping grass-like plant with metallic silver recurved leaves. 2-3' tall x 4' wide. If flowers apperar, they are relatively inconspicuous. This cultivar is a female cross between A. chathamica and A. nervosa, noted as being more compact than the species forms. Great in containers. Full sun to part shade. Medium water. Seacoast, wind, heat, and drought once established, but prefers occasional water. Deer and gopher resistant.
